UMass Boston Faculty Athletics Representative
Dr. Federman currently serves as the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative for the University of Massachusetts Boston, reporting to the Chancellor. His work in this role includes helping to ensure a quality student-athlete experience and promote student-athlete well-being and serving as an independent advocate for student-athletes.
He works directly with the Department of Athletics and Recreation to assist in the oversight of athletics, ensuring that they are conducted in a manner designed to protect and enhance the physical, psychological, and educational well-being of student-athletes.
In this role, Dr. Federman has begun a faculty liaison program that pairs athletic teams on campus with faculty mentors, coordinated with athletics staff to provide comprehensive academic support to students, and participated as a university representative at the NCAA Convention and the 7th Annual NCAA Common Ground Experience.
